Tropes: grumpy sunshine, boss employee, billionaire, age gap, with a broody, cinnamon roll Greek god, and loads of flower puns.
A spunky florist and a grumpy Lord of the Dead? It’s a match made in the Underworld!
My new boss is rude, bossy, and grumpy AH. He’s spent the last two hundred years drowning his sorrows, brooding. People skills? He has none.
It turns out I’m the only one who can see this hot guy in front of me. Just him and a ghost.
The Underworld has been freezing over since Persephone left. Hades too by his frosty attitude. And he needs me to help him collect errant souls who have escaped. Save the living from the curse of madness inflicted by one touch from the dead.
I don’t know how I’m supposed to help. I’m a green-haired florist trying to make ends meet delivering bouquets to funeral parlors – not save the Underworld.
After a soul attacks me, Hades is looking at me differently, eyes heated, voice all growly, fingers clamped on my wrist. Suddenly, I’m not sure I can handle the fire of the Lord of the Dead.
Hades messed up. It’s his fault the Lady of the Underworld left…again. The guy just can’t keep a good goddess down. But the Lord of the Dead can’t mope about the Underworld while it tears apart. Breaches in the fabric of the afterlife have allowed souls to escape and return to their lives. Something is wrong, and Hades needs Autumn’s help, for her to become the death goddess to figure it out.
After Hades hid who she really was, Autumn no longer wants anything to do with gods, death or the goddess awakening in her. That’s why she hightailed it to Fiji, to grow tropical flowers and eat pineapple and coconuts all day. But when Hades shows up with a bargain, a way to severe the connection between them, to free her of the grief of missing him and longing for what they had together, she agrees. Only Autumn will have to dive into the death goddess side of her, a side of her that has already killed, a side that terrifies her. When life and death collide, there can only be one winner.
Old grudges die hard.
Life’s never dull in the Underworld. There’s souls to judge, punishment to deliver, too many hellhounds to feed and not enough bones. When Autumn goes against her husband’s wishes and lowers the sentence of one soul, she gets thrown into the River of Forgetfulness, and loses her memory.
Proud, old Hades is a papa-to-be, and he’s busy forging golden baby cots and juggling his wife’s testiness. Seems he’s overprotective and a bit of a ‘Dad-zilla.’ But he has every reason to be cautious when he lost his family to the powers of gods. Now he faces losing his wife again, and he’ll do anything to find a way to save her, even if it means he might never return.
A challenge has emerged for rulership of the Underworld.
Trouble brews between the king and queen of the Underworld … and in the afterlife. Zeus broke an ancient oath to never harm another deity by threatening Autumn’s life. War is declared, and Hades must protect the realm and the souls from the threat that wishes to rule them. The gloves are off, and Hades isn’t taking any chances when it comes to his family’s survival. He lost them once and won’t ever again. Sometimes the old Lord of the Dead must do what an Underworld God’s got to do…if only Autumn can forgive him.
